FESTIVAL SCHEDULE
ATA-Houston had many activities in 2009. In February, world-renowned pianist, Idil Biret gave a concert at the Wortham Center and was interviewed by KUHF. In April, Tolga Unaldi gave a mesmerizing ney concert at Rothko Chapel. In July, we have collaborated with MFAH to present Three Monkeys, a movie by acclaimed Turkish director Nuri Bilge Ceylan. On September 6, we hosted Painted on Water, a concert by Sertab Erener and Demir Demirkan, as part of their USA Tour '09 organized by GNL Entertainment. We hope that you have also been taking advantage of our regular activities such as the movie nights, happy hour gatherings, April 23 picnic, Tavern Night, Manti Gunu.
Now is the time to prepare for our most important annual event, Turkishfest 2009. The 19th annual festival will be two days for the first time in its history:
Saturday, October 10, 11 AM -10 PM and Sunday, October 11, 11 AM - 8 PM

Festival will be held at
Jones Plaza (for directions and parking).
We are bringing more musicians and performers from TURKEY, including TUANA Sanat Kulubu. We are also pursuing a more aggressive marketing campaign to ensure as large participation as possible by Houstonians so that we can promote Turkey to a bigger population.
Our rate of success depends heavily on your support. We need:
1- Volunteers to help us with preparations for the festival, but most importantly, volunteers for the two days of the festival. Click here to contact us.
2- Your financial support (personal or through your work)
Those who want to volunteer please write to us; or they can contact any of the ATA-Houston officers.
You can become a member and/or donate via www.atahouston.org using PayPal; or you can send your checks to ATA-Houston, PO Box 460253, Houston, TX 77056-8253.
We also would like to encourage you pursuing corporate sponsorship of your companies. A full sponsorship package is available here. If your company requires additional information on the festival or ATA-Houston, please contact us.
We appreciate your interest and help greatly.
