Dear Friends of Turkey,

 

It is that time of the year – once again, the American Turkish Association (ATA) of Houston, has started planning its annual festival in October.  This year’s festival, Turkish Festival 2008, will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at the Jones in Downtown Houston.  The Jones is centrally located between Alley Theater and Bayou Place in the Theater District. Last year, this annual event hosted more than two thousand guests.  Once again, we are planning to present the Turkish culture to the people of Houston in a grand fashion.  As usual, there will be Turkish food served throughout the day; fresh brewed Turkish tea and coffee with fortune reading; activities for children; presentations; paper marbling, calligraphy, carpet sewing exhibitions and lectures; ice cream show; traditional Turkish shadow theater; folk dancing and belly dancing workshops and shopping opportunities reminiscent of the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul.  The festival will be capped off by a great concert.

 

In the download section, you will find the Turkish Festival 2008 vendor contract and registration form. This year’s festival booth prices are as follows:

  

3-Table Vendor Area (includes 3 tables and 3 chairs): $500

2-Table Vendor Area (includes 2 tables and 2 chairs): $350

1-Table Vendor Area (includes 1 tables and 1 chairs): $200

 

Please note that no open drinks or open food items can be sold in the Grand Bazaar area.

 

In order to allow for optimal planning and secure the prices above; please fill out the following form and mail it back to ATA with your payment no later than September 15, 2008. Once you make your payment, you can pick your spot in the Grand Bazaar. The booths will be reserved when the payment is received.

Gecen senelerde bildiginiz gibi 2000 kisiden fazla ziyaretci festivalimize gelmistir. Bu sene de ayni gelenegi surdurerek ve ziyaretci sayisini arttirarak Turk kulturunu Houston'a bir kere daha gostermeyi hedeflemekteyiz. Her zamanki gibi gun boyunca yiyecek, icecek hazirlanmasinin yani sira ebru gosterisi, muzik gruplari, sark kosesi ve kahve fali, folklor, Kapali Carsi ve cesitli sunumlari iceren pek cok diger aktivite planlamaktayiz.

 

Eger katilip urunlerinizi festivalimizde satmak isterseniz assagidaki "downlod" bolumunden gerekli gormu indirip bize yollayabilirsiniz. Yerinizi garantilemek icin lutfen basvurunuzu en gec 15 Eylul tarihine kadar yapin. Odemesi yapilmayan masalar maalesef rezerve edilmeyecektir.
